The company was founded in 1948 when Ronald Bowers recognised a need for high quality dies for the then thriving British shoe trade, as well as steel embossing dies for seal and label printing.
During the 1970s his sons Robert and John took over the day to day running of the business and continued its development into one of Europe’s leading suppliers of precision tooling for the packaging industry for the printing of cosmetics, pharmaceuticals and food.
Since Robert’s retirement in December 2000 John has continued to expand the company, creating new and innovative products for the security industry, cosmetics market and packaging sector.
The take-over of another long established Leicester firm in 2004 enabled the company to branch out into new markets by producing high quality second header punches and stamps for the aerospace fastener industry.
With the company’s range of products now covering the food and pharmaceutical sectors, cosmetics packaging, security printing as well as the aerospace fastener industry, John’s daughter Yvonne is taking on the business and continuing the family tradition of quality, innovation and expertise. With a strong focus on international expansion, particularly in Europe and North America, the company is now secured for the future.
